Disk Cleanup
Disk Cleanup removes files that are not being used from the system. This process if not performed routinely will result in a computer that appears to be sluggish and slow.

Click start, all programs, accessories, system tools, disk cleanup

The select drive window will appear – select the drive you want to cleanup and click OK

A new window will appear indicating that the system is calculating the amount of space that will be saved after cleanup. This screen may take some time to complete depending on the speed of your machine and the amount of data to be removed.

The next window to appear is the items that Disk Cleanup will remove. You can safely check every box in the window for removal of all the files noted.

**Note** It is recommended that you leave (if available) office setup files, these files will allow additional features of Microsoft Office to be installed without having to provide the original install disk. After you have selected all of the check boxes you wish to have the system remove click OK.

One last window will appear indicating that the disk cleaning process is under way. This process can take several minutes depending on the amount of data that needs to be removed and the speed of your computer. Be patient! There will be no notification that the process has completed the window below will just close and the process is complete.
