Hidden “temp” Files
Located in the user’s documents is a hidden folder with temporary files. These files are not required and often contain the links to ad-ware, spy-ware and viruses. By cleaning this folder routinely, your system performance will improve and you will eliminate links to potentially hazardous content. These steps can be used with any current version of Windows either desktop or server.

Click start

Click Run (if using Vista, and Run is not listed, just type run in the search box at the bottom of the menu and select the application from the top of the list)

Type %temp% and click OK

A window with the user temp files opens. None of the files located in this folder are critical to the function of your computer and all can be deleted.

Click anywhere in the window and press CTRL-A to select all of the files and press Delete to delete all of the files.

There may be files that are currently being used by system services that will not delete while the system is in normal mode. It is recommended that you restart your system in Safe Mode and follow these steps to remove these files.
